Born out of a lifelong passion for the Amazon Rainforest, Brazilian photographer and eco-activist Sheila Farah brings to you formulas lovingly crafted with oils, extracts and butters derived from the Amazon's native exotic fruits.

Community Involvement and Fair Trade

Our belief is that the forest inhabitants only feasible and viable coexistence with nature stems from being freed of the need to cut down trees for survival. Therefore, Amazon Secrets works towards retrieving and valuing the culture of these people by creating a business model that provides direct support to these communities based upon the following principles: respect for local culture, respect for nature and fair compensation.

Natural Raw Materials

Our products are made with high quality natural raw materials obtained from exotic fruits native to the Amazon Rainforest. We only buy natural ingredients extracted from the forest under sustainable practices, which means that means the forest is unharmed by this economic activity. Through our products we help provide economical incentive to preserve the Rainforest.

No Harmful Chemicals

We believe that certain chemicals widely used in the cosmetic industry have no business in our products. These chemicals are either harmful to the environment or suspected to cause harm to our skin and bodies. In light of this, we have devised a “No” list of chemicals and practices which are not present in our formulas, with the objective of being transparent and sharing information with our customers.

True Story of True Involvement

"In 1989 I received an invitation to photograph the Amazon Rainforest. This experience was an awakening to the grandeur of its existence. It was traveling through it for more than a year that I came to know a little of the Amazon I dreamt of, its people, its culture and identity.

My camera became part of me and gradually I came to perceive a reality far beyond that which I carried with me in my luggage. Some preconceived notions felt challenged when I discovered different realities from those I had imagined. As I adventured deeper and the forest and its inhabitants were getting used to my presence I finally came to understand the significance of mutual existence.

This experience led me to dedicate years of my life to find a way to help protect the richness of the Amazon Rainforest by spreading its culture and promoting its sustainability. With Amazon Secrets I have found a way to share its natural riches with the world.

The fruits, plants, resins, herbs and barks used by the forest inhabitants in preparations are part of a timeless culture that holds the healing secrets of nature. I have these ways firsthand from my friends at the Rainforest who taught me their secrets. The inspiration for our products comes from this rich, natural and cultural source.

I have since lovingly crafted formulas by combining research with high quality natural oils, extracts and butters sustainably obtained from exotic fruits native to the Amazon. These raw materials have wonderful skincare properties and I am proud to bring them to you through our products."
